At Playful Roots, I offer grounded, heart-centered support through birth doula care, postpartum guidance, and early childhood education. My role is to help you feel prepared, supported, and truly seen—whether you’re welcoming your first baby, navigating postpartum, or growing your beautiful queer family.

Welcome to Playful Roots Doula Services! I'm Sienna (she/her), a certifying birth doula and child development specialist in Calgary, AB, with a deep love for all things baby and early childhood.

My passion for birth began early—I once insisted on being called the “baby doctor” and spent countless hours in dramatic play, tending to toy babies and imagining the magic of supporting new families. That childhood dream has grown into a calling, and I’m now proud to offer inclusive, client-centered doula care for all kinds of parents and families.

With a Bachelor’s degree in Child Studies and over nine years of experience as an early childhood educator in Calgary, I’ve supported children and caregivers through major transitions, tender moments, and everyday milestones. My work is rooted in connection, empathy, and a deep respect for the uniqueness of every parent’s journey.

When I’m not attending births or supporting little ones, you can find me coaching rhythmic gymnastics, sipping tea with my partner, or cuddling with our two curious kitties.

Looking for support in creating your birth plan and managing the preparation of your birth? Let’s create your individualized birth plan together and talk through the phases & stages of labour- I can help provide suggestions for pain-relief and partner support during each phase. This will include a free consultation and two sessions- either virtual or in person.

Heart-centred birth support for the experienced birther. Birth support without the prenatal sessions! Perfect for parents who already feel prepared and have their birth plan in place. We’ll meet once before your birth to connect and get to know each other, and then I’ll be on-call to support you during labour starting at 38 weeks.
Your investment: $800
Looking for heart-centred birth support? This package includes two prenatal sessions to prepare, in-person support during labour, and one postpartum visit to help you settle in. You'll also have access to 24/7 virtual support as your due date approaches—because questions (and feelings!) don’t stick to business hours.
Your Investment: $1100
Get the full circle of support from bump to baby snuggles. This bundle includes two prenatal visits, in-person birth support, and 16 hours of flexible postpartum care to help with feeding, rest, recovery, and adjusting to life with your little one. You’ve got this—and I’ve got you.

The early days after birth are tender and full of transition — you deserve support that helps you rest, recover, and connect. My postpartum care offers gentle, practical help for your whole family.
Daytime: $32/hour Overnight: $40/hour
